Rapier / Ice Gauntlet PvP Build
Medleyfaire
This build has everything. It’s mobile, durable, deals tons of damage and even has a surprising amount of healing power. I find this build to be an excellent light armor brawler that can do a surprisingly good job fighting outnumbered, even in a more open field fight!
The Ice Gauntlet / Rapier weapon combo is packed with tons of defensive utility, in fact every single skill on this build has great defensive capabilities! This build does well in all sorts of solo and group PvP combat, so I hope you guys enjoy!
Check out a video guide with gameplay for this build!
This is a main-hand Rapier build at heart, and the Attribute spread reflects the huge investment into Rapier damage. The 150 DEX jump point is very important for this builds Stamina sustain, especially as an up close Light Armor fighter! As always 150 CON helps immensely in PvP thanks to that Critical Damage reduction, so again as a Light Armor melee fighter you will defiantly want to get 150 CON to help you survive incoming burst damage.
The 200 INT jump point is not super important as Ice Gauntlet has good mana sustain on its own, and this build doesn’t use many mana intensive skills. If you want to run 200 DEX and 150 INT for more backstab damage that works well too! The resists of this spec reflect the fact that Muskets, Bows, and Fire Staves are very common in PvP. This build also does a great job against melee fighters so a big investment against Slash and Strike are not needed.

Equipment
Sundering Riposte is a 24% Rend (increases targets damage taken) when on a Rapier, making it an excellent debuff to help deliver massive burst combos. Rapier damage is further amplified by the Ultimate Chill passive from the Ice Gauntlet thanks to that Frozen Gem! Rouge is BIS for this type of playstyle as this build does an excellent job getting behind an opponent. For the 3rd perk I would prefer Keenly Empowered or Jagged!
The Ice Gauntlet has Keen and Keen Speed to give this build a good movement bonus that is easy to proc at a distance or with the multi hit attack from Ice Spikes. Deadly Frost in a nice 3rd perk that will further reduce the cool down of Ice Shower when on the gauntlet. I would actually prefer to have Healing Tomb here for the additional healing it provides.
Ideally for general armor perks you want to have Resilient, I am also using the PvP reward track armor for that super great Shirking Heals perk. This perk goes perfectly with the roll intensive playstyle of this build and is also further amplified by the Light Armor healing bonus! If you don’t have access to this gear, perks like Shirking Fortification and the Aversion perks are a great option as well!
Healing Tomb is amazing as it adds even more healing power to this build, and Omnidirectional Evade just adds more power to the Rapier bar. Both of these perks are highly recommended!
Health + Divine necklace is a huge must for PvP with Shirking DOT cleanse being super useful against all those ranged DOTs in todays meta. Stamina Recovery would also be a great choice as the 3rd perk! Hearty + Keen Awareness are the preferred Ring perks. Again I have the PvP track reward ring that has Invigorated Punishment as the 3rd perk and is arguably the BIS ring for this setup. Finally the earing is perfect for healing and any Refreshing is great as the 3rd perk.
You will need food to reach the jump points that this build requires, and as always use both Health and Regeneration Potions in PvP! Both the Oakflesh Balm and Gemstone Dust are great consumables to have slotted incase you need a bunch of extra resists.
Active Skills
Rapier
Riposte - 4/4 Upgrades
Thanks to Sundering Riposte on the Rapier this skill is going to not only be an amazing defensive utility, but also a very powerful combo starter that will greatly inflate your damage against anyone who gets hit by the stun. Riposte can be used to counter and survive all kinds of attacks and is a cornerstone of Rapier’s defensive kit.
Evade - 5/5 Upgrades
Evade is arguably the Rapier’s best skill. It not only allows you to have a brief moment of invulnerability, but makes you more mobile, can be used to attack, and can cancel any ability or action! This is a very unique effect and gives the Rapier a high skill ceiling for PvP combat. Evade is also great when chained with dodge roll, especially since you gain stamina for using it! Omnidirectional Evade makes this skill stack even more damage on your next attack too!
Fleche - 4/4 Upgrades
This is not only an amazing gap-closer for attacking and getting away, but it is also a quick way for you to get behind an opponent and hit them with a strong backstab. This is also a very fast skill to cast and does quite a bit of damage on the initial hit too!
Ice Gauntlet
Ice Spikes - 5/5 Upgrades
Ice Spike is a fantastic offensive skill that can deal quite a bit of damage if all the hits connect. The stagger from this skill also makes it a great defensive utility that can interrupt or stop opponents from charging at you. This skill also has a very short cooldown, but can be a difficult skill to learn to time properly!
Ice Shower - 4/4 Upgrades
Ice Shower functions as a great AOE immobilize and snare that can stop opponents from pursuing you or hold them in place for a damage combo. This skill is especially useful when placed in a choke point. The shower even applies a DOT thanks to the Deadly Frost perk, making it great for keeping that ultimate chill debuff on opponents!
Entombed - 3/3 Upgrades
Entombed is possibly the best utility skill that Ice Gauntlet has. This skill can be used to absorb incoming damage or stuns, will purge ALL negative effects from you after you exit from it, and thanks to the Healing Tomb perk it also provides some decent healing power. This skill can be used to counter all kinds of different attacks in the game, and has tons of utility against any matchup.
