Finisher / Musket PvP Build

The apex of Musket builds. This guy hits like a truck, has crazy good mobility, and heals like you have a pocket healer beside you at all times. A burst build shouldn’t be this hard to kill.. Please don’t buff Musket..

100 CON gives this build just enough health to take punishment and heal it away. Some of the healing even scales form your weapon damage so building high damage even helps your survival!

You can always take 50 points out of DEX if you want to add more CON or even FOC for more healing and cooldown reduction.

Dexterity

  • 25: +5% critical hit chance. +10% skinning speed.

  • 50: +5% damage while at full health. +20% haste for 3s after skinning.

  • 100: +5% damage while stamina is not full. +50 encumbrance.

  • 150: +15% duration to damage over time effects. -10% weight of skinned items.

  • 200: +10% bonus backstab and headshot damage. +20% skinning speed.

  • 250: Gain 10% empower for 3s after successfully dodging an attack. +10% yield increase when skinning.

  • 300: Weapon swapping will cleanse all stun and root crowd control status effects (30s cooldown). Ammo has 15% chance of being returned.

  • 350: +15% crit chance while empowered. +10% chance at finding rare items while skinning.

Intelligence

  • 25: +5% damage increase to backstabs and random critical hits. +10% harvest speed.

  • 50: +5% damage increase to targets inflicted with a damage over time effect. +5% chance for 1 azoth when harvesting.

  • 100: +10% damage to light and heavy elemental attacks. +50 encumbrance.

  • 150: +10% to elemental damage. -10% weight of harvested items.

Constitution

  • 25: All health consumables are 10% stronger. +10% Logging speed.

  • 50: +10% physical armor when at or above 50% health. 10% reduction on durability loss for tools.

  • 100: Increase max health by 10%. +50 encumbrance.

 

Equipment

 

Finisher is a great rapier even if your not playing a bleed kit, so for this build you have to make sure you add Keenly Jagged to it! The gem is Nature damage to match all the nature damage buffing we have, with an abyssal DOT so it can be stacked with the much stronger Nature DOT from the musket!

The musket is perfect, with Jagged / Attunement for damage and procing finisher. Refreshing power shot is crazy good, allowing you to fire a second power shot within a few seconds of the first. This gives crazy burst damage to this build! Again it has a Nature gem on it with a Nature DOT!

The ideal armor perks are Shirking Heals, Refreshing, Elemental Aversion in that order. Accelerating traps is a must have here too! Both Crippling Powder Burn and Omnidirectional Evade are great choices to add to your armor too. As always make sure you have shirking energy on those legs!

The armor gems are all +2% Nature Damage runeglass for that burst!

The jewelry is nearly perfect. The Amy and earing are exactly what I want, but the ring could have Nature Damage instead of Refreshing. All fitted with opals for elemental resist.

As always use the best food you can find, honing stones, and health / mana / regeneration potions! Of course remember to use the desert sunrise drink to give you more DOT resistance!

 
 

Active Skills

Greatsword

Riposte - 3/3 Upgrades

A great skill for quickly turning on an aggressive opponent and landing huge damage.

I also like to throw traps on people if they get caught in the stun.

This skill is fantastic when outnumbered since people will be very aggressive, but vs. skilled opponents 1v1 can be hard to land successfully. Feel free to swap this for a different skill if your looking to do more 1v1 fights!

Evade - 5/5 Upgrades

The bread and butter of rapier, great for attacking defending and movement.

Evade has a very high skill ceiling by allowing it to cancel any existing action, you can do so many things with this skill.

Fleche - 3/3 Upgrades

A fantastic gap closer that can deal huge combo damage with its backstab.

Defensively this gap closer also goes through opponents, making it great for escaping a body block.

Musket

Power Shot - 2/4 Upgrades

A strong single shot, that thanks to refreshing power shot can now be fired rather quickly again after landing. Power shot gives this build incredible ranged burst damage.

Powder Burn - 3/3 Upgrades

With crippling powder burn this skill does fantastic damage and offers great utility! The burn from this is no joke.

Traps - 4/4 Upgrades

Thanks to Accelerating Traps this skill not only can slow foes down and control the battlefield, but gives you a massive speed boost for escaping.

If anyone steps in the trap you can deal crazy damage to them with either weapon thanks to this applying a bleed!
