Inferno / Rapier PvP Build

Season 7

My favorite build with tons of ranged and melee damage and excellent mobility. This build does excellent in any PvP situation and excels at solo and outnumbered fights thanks to the huge amounts of AOE damage and i-frames it provides. Truly a monstrous build in season 7.

Check out a video guide with gameplay for this build!

Equipment / Attributes

Fire staff has terrible diminishing returns after 350 INT so putting 100 DEX is not only amazing for rapier damage, it actually makes the Fire Staff hit almost as hard as a 450 INT setup thanks to those % damage increases.

I love Empowering Fireball on the Inferno, but an Attunement perk is also great here.

The rapier should have either Leaching Flurry or Omnidirectional Evade, with Vicious / Penetrating Backstab / Attunement for the final two perks.

The ideal armor perks would be Refreshing / Elemental Aversion / Shirking Heals. You can substitute Aversion for Enchanted ward too! At least one Hasted Vigor is also a must have. Freedom would also be great on this build since we don’t have a CC break outside of Stoneform.

You 100% NEED Leaching Flurry if your using Flurry on this build, so if your Rapier has Omni, then get Leaching Flurry on your armor and vice versa.

I prefer Tumbler’s Footwraps for any solo PvP thanks to the healing / empower / fortify it gives. Both Weapon sit at a comfortable 42% Empower fully buffed. The Winged Leather Shoes area good option since both weapons have great haste uptimes.

The jewelry is perfect. You don’t need an artifact item here, but feel free to use one of your choice.

Use the best food you can find, honing stones, and mana pots for that healthy toast perk! I prefer Infused Regeneration potions since they give the most healing out of all your choices in PvP.

Active Skills

Fire Staff Skills

I like to run as much utility as possible on the Fire Staff. Burnout is a fantastic gap closer for attacking or escaping, and it does both when you use it to go through your opponents to safety on the other side.

Incinerate is amazing for interrupting melee opponent combos and setting up a counter attack.

I also like Backdraft quite a lot since we can get big 7k+ heavy attack smacks on burning foes!

Otherwise the passives are very offensively minded.

Rapier Skills

My favorite Rapier tree right now, perfectly balanced for offense and defense.

You need Leaching Flurry for this setup and it’s very easy to set a strong Flurry combo following an Incinerate.

The passives are mostly focused on stamina sustain / cooldown reduction.
