Inferno / Warhammer PvP Build

Season 7

Hammer at haste cap with a single hit? One shot damage? I think I'm in love.. This build would be great in any armor weight thanks to the damage / speed of the combined weapons!

Check out a video guide with gameplay for this build!

Equipment / Attributes

This is a STR build at heart, that being said it doesn’t hurt to put 50 points in INT so the fire staff burns get a much needed damage boost! 150 CON and 50 FOC are amazing for any close ranged light armor build in todays meta.

The Warhammer needs to have Trenchant Strikes, past that Sundering Clear Out is fantastic for Rend stacking, and the final perk of choice would be Plagued Strikes. You can even use Keen Speed if you really want to embrace the haste hammer!

Inferno is the fire staff of choice for this build. I love Empowering Fire Ball, but feel free to use an Attunement here if you prefer.

The ideal armor perks would be Refreshing / Elemental Aversion / Shirking Heals. You can substitute Aversion for Enchanted ward too! At least one Hasted Vigor is also a must have for that easy Haste stacking. Freedom would also be great on this build since we don’t have a CC break outside of Stoneform.

The jewelry is perfect. You don’t need an artifact item here, but feel free to use one of your choice.

Use the best food you can find, honing stones, and mana pots for that healthy toast perk! I prefer normal Regen Potions since we have excellent stamina sustain.

Active Skills

Warhammer Skills

Both Clear Out and Mighty Gavel give 30% haste when they hit. The Facilitated Expedition passive will stack an additional 15% speed on top of this, and will proc off a single hit when you have a runeglass DOT on the hammer!

Not only is it very easy to hit haste cap with these skills, but having Armor Breaker and Gavel means you have huge AOE burst damage with it.

If your trying to chase a target down remember to lead with light / partial charged heavy attacks since they have insanely good reach, while the skills themselves do not.

Fire Staff Skills

An Inferno fire staff build suffers from one draw back, the burn damage is quite low on a STR build. This means the Backdraft passive is a MUST have so we can turn those little burns into big burst damage!

I also greatly prefer to have Incinerate and Burnout with this setup so we can get as much utility as possible out of fire staff for dealing with things like snares / immobilizes.
