A durable, super fast trap focused musket build with a crazy amount of healing power. This build excels at all types of combat and does a scary good job zoning out melee opponents. The burst damage from the bomb combos can easily bring down a player in under a second!

This close ranged musket build almost plays like an Ice Gauntlet, holding its ground but still having crazy good speed! Arguably the most well rounded musket / rapier setup you can play.

150 CON and 50 FOC make this a very durable musket build, with a huge amount of healing power. Since it is a close ranged build I highly recommend hitting these thresholds!

300 DEX is super important for that CC break as well as both weapons scaling primarily from this stat.

150 INT is super important for a musket / rapier damage build thanks to those big elemental damage bonuses!

25 STR just because we have the Infused Leather Pants on, since musket and rapier are both light attack heavy weapons this is worth the points! That being said if you chose to run the Winged Leather Shoes artifact then don’t worry about any STR points!

To reach all these stat thresholds (except STR) with the Winged Leather Shoes you will need a near full 725 build, so the Infused Pants are sort of the ‘budget’ version.

Strength

  • 25: +5% light attack damage. +10% mining speed.

Dexterity

  • 25: +5% critical hit chance. +10% skinning speed.

  • 50: +5% damage while at full health. +20% haste for 3s after skinning.

  • 100: +5% damage while stamina is not full. +50 encumbrance.

  • 150: +15% duration to damage over time effects. -10% weight of skinned items.

  • 200: +10% bonus backstab and headshot damage. +20% skinning speed.

  • 250: Gain 10% empower for 3s after successfully dodging an attack. +10% yield increase when skinning.

  • 300: Weapon swapping will cleanse all stun and root crowd control status effects (30s cooldown). Gain 20% haste for 5s after killing Prey (Effect is removed when a hit is taken).

Intelligence

  • 25: +5% damage increase to backstabs and random critical hits. +10% harvest speed.

  • 50: +5% damage increase to targets inflicted with a damage over time effect. +5% chance for 1 azoth when harvesting.

  • 100: +10% base damage to light and heavy elemental attacks. +50 encumbrance.

  • 150: +10% to elemental damage. -10% weight of harvested items.

Focus

  • 25: +5% ability cooldown reduction. +5% chance to catch larger fish.

  • 50: 10% incoming healing. +3% fishing cast distance.

Constitution

  • 25: All health consumables are 10% stronger. +10% Logging speed.

  • 50: +10% physical armor when at or above 50% health. 10% reduction on durability loss for tools.

  • 100: Increase max health by 10%. +50 encumbrance.

  • 150: -10% to critical damage taken. -10% weight of logging items.

 

Equipment

 

The Mechanic makes this build, the cooldown reduction plus the two weapon perks it has gives you excellent uptime on your haste, and the ability to spam bombs. I think Keenly Jagged would be better than attunement for more uptime on Lethal Combo.

The ideal Rapier would be Omni Evade, Penetrating Backstab, and Vicious / Rouge.

The ideal armor perks would be Refreshing / Elemental Aversion / Shirking Heals. You can substitute Aversion for Enchanted ward too! Hasted Vigor is also a must have for that easy Haste stacking.

I recommend Nature Damage runeglass on your armor pieces to bring the rapier up to 47% empower.

On the armor, Leeching Flurry is also a must have to add tons of utility to Flurry. Crippling Powder Burn is a great option too.

The jewelry is perfect. You don’t need an artifact item here, but if you have the Elemental Band it works great.

As always use the best food you can find, honing stones, and mana pots for that healthy toast perk! Regen potions or serums are the best healing options thanks to the bigger health pool of this build.

 
 

Active Skills

Greatsword

Powder Burn - 3/3 Upgrades

The burn this applies will allow you to deal a ton of extra damage since it counts towards the Lethal Combo perk.

If you have Crippling Powder burn on your gear this can also act as a CC!

You can always use Power Shot here if you prefer.


Sticky Bomb - 3/3 Upgrades

Massive AOE damage and it will heal you thanks to the Mechanics perks.

The delayed burst of this skill is fantastic for setting up a super fast kill combo!

Bomb > Flurry works super well!

Traps - 4/4 Upgrades

Not only does this give a 33% haste bonus, but the trap itself can be used to zone people out of an area.

If anyone steps in the trap it is super easy to hit them with a grenade and start your combo.

The lifesteal from this is also invaluable and can turn around a bad situation!

Finally the Mechanic lets you spam these traps, making them an integral part of this builds playstyle.

Rapier

Flurry - 3/5 Upgrades

A powerful life steeling combo move that give momentary invulnerability thanks to the Leaching Flurry perk.

This skill lets you trade blows with anyone and come out on top, in the footage it saves my ass soooo many times..

Evade - 5/5 Upgrades

The bread and butter of Rapier gameplay. You can use this to attack, defend, or move around quickly.

Be creative with this skill as it has a super high skill ceiling!

Fleche - 4/4 Upgrades

Our second gap closer and it also does a ton of damage.

you can easily reposition yourself behind people with this, not to mention you can use it to move through opponents to escape a body block!
